Reaching Zurich

By Air
Zurich Airport is just over 10km of the city in Kloten. A very efficient and pleasant airport with a reputation for fast baggage handling. There are two terminals and both having tourist information booths, ATMs and money exchange facilities are in both terminals and the train station below. Regular trains to Zurich run from below the terminals to Zürich Hauptbahnhof. There is also a hotel bus service that departs from the arrivals level between the terminals.

By Train
Zürich's Hauptbahnhof is connected to all parts of Switzerland and Europe and located in the middle of Zurich. Many facilities are found at the station including a shopping mall, post office, restaurants, tourist office, bike rental office and left-luggage counter.

By bus
Zürich is not well connected by bus but buses arrive from Vienna , Budapest , Prague , Zagreb and London and terminate at the bus station on Sihlquai opposite the Walhalla hotel.

By car
The N1 brings traffic from Bern and Basel in the west, and Konstanz , St Gallen and Winterthur in the east; the N3 and N4 comes from Luzern, the Gotthard and Chur in the south and Schaffhausen in the north. Parking in Zürich is difficult with no parking allowed in the Old Town , and parts of the Central Business District. A day permit is available for purchase from police stations that enables parking on the street in blue zones. For longer stays the secure parking at the airport is an option.
